Similar to Saga’s weapon upgrade system, each of these slips of paper has three different perks you can invest in - everything from increased combat capabilities to expanding your inventory of flashlight capacity. Words of Power are a way for Alan Wake to grow stronger and can be accessed in the Writer’s Room.Ĭheck the drawer and you’ll find several different types of Words to invest in.

Shine your flashlight on it for a few seconds and you'll unlock your first Words of Power, this one being Words of Fix.

Walk through the hallway and you'll soon find yourself in front of a door with a spiral of yellow words above it. Look to the left of it and you'll spot the flash of yellow arrows pointing to a small alcove that wasn’t there when the light was on. Before heading back the way you came, turn around in the alley toward the flickering lamp.
